How I plan to raise $500k in 50 days. Day 5 and 6 SPECIAL EDITION***

Day 5 and 6

Today I am going to combine yesterday and the day before.  It will also be a post that doesn’t affect Northstar.  I was in meetings for the last 2 days with a project that I volunteer for.

I am helping a non profit foundation in Sarasota FL that enriches the lives of veterans.  Over the last 2 days I have learned so much information about what veterans go through when they come home from deployment that would make your head spin.  The thing that I have found most disturbing is the amount of money that WE as a collective body IE (USA) spend on creating each and every soldier.  I mean we spend thousands to change little Bobby and Mary into Rambo and Wonder woman.  In a world of complete chaos there needs to be a stabilizing force and I mean force.  Those two soldiers are that force.  The mentality that the military creates in a soldier is great for the battlefield but not so great for back here in the USA.  There in lies the problem.  The military doesn’t spend much money to “de-militarized” Bobby and Mary.  I can see their point.  What would happen if in the future they would ever need the veterans that are not an active duty to come back for a disaster.  Well if you de-militarize them they would be worthless to you.  That fact is why so many veterans find it hard to re integrate into savilian life.  That is where our non profit RS Cares Foundation working with Green Zone Heros and Civilian Boot Camp comes in.

The project currently running on the RS Cares website is “A Home For A Hero Raffle”  RS Cares has holding a raffle that will give a house away to a veteran.  The house is located in Sunny Venice, FL and is a beautiful 4 bed 3 bath with a pool.  It was completely updated a while back and will be a great home for a veteran.  Now please go to the RS Cares website to buy your ticket.  To be a full participant the suggested donation is $100 and any other amount you will be a partial participant.  The reason why this is so important is because RS Cares, Green Zone Hero and Civilian Boot Camp are the organizations that enrich veterans lives.  RS Cares provides housing for Veterans, Green Zone Heros helps connect the dots between Companies and Veterans and Civilian Boot Camp helps “de-militarize” veterans so they can live in our savilian world and truly “BE ALL THAT THEY CAN BE”.  RS Cares takes ZERO money from the Government and this raffle is one of the main fund raising initiatives that will help continue RS Cares on its Veteran mission. You do not need to be a veteran to participate and win.  If you are a savilian and your name is drawn to be the winner you have two choices.  The first is that you would donate the house to a veteran. The rules are that ONLY a veteran can own the house.  The second is the 50/50 cash prize.  You can just choose to  take half of the money raised and then RS cares can use the house to work on our next project for first responders that will be on September 11th.

In conclusion, this post today is a question that every single person always asks themselves.  How can I help my local community but not get up off the couch and disturb my comfortable life.  The answer is.  You don’t need to because there are organizations out there that will do it for you.  Just like a veteran has went somewhere to do something that you didn’t want to do.  RS Cares, Green Zone Heros, and Civilian Boot Camp is doing for the veterans what needs to be done.  All you need to do is support them in their worthy cause and donate today! I hope to meet each and every one of you in the future that participates.

Respectfully,

Scott Schmitz
